Queen of Glory is the second of six online Films of the Month via YourScreen we are bringing you this season. All are included in your membership and you can watch it free here by using the code CFSQG (please ignore the expiry date on the film as there are no time restrictions on the CFSQG code).
Please note: To watch you will first need to set up an account and password with YourScreen, but you will not be required to add your bank details after adding CFSQG as the Promo code. Please see your Film of the Month email for more detail on how to watch.
Ghanian-American director and writer, Nana Mensah, also wrote and stars in her appealing debut feature.
Mensah plays Sarah Obeng, an Ivy League student on the brink of quitting her PhD programme to follow her married lover to Ohio. Her future dreams are upended when her mother dies suddenly and bequeaths her an unexpected inheritance, a Christian bookstore in the Bronx. Although on the surface, it is very different to October’s online Film of the Month, Luzzu (still available to stream or download until 11 November using code CFSLUZZU), it is similarly educative without being preachy and gives a humorous and fascinating look into an unfamiliar culture. A take on the classic immigrant’s tale.
CFS members have also been given a 30% discount by YourScreen to the rest of their current titles by using the code CFS30
